This page is dedicated to rip offs that I stumble upon in my everyday life.  I am very skeptical by nature, and always try to keep in mind that “If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.”

I also question things that don’t make sense.  I do my homework, and try to research things thoroughly before making decisions – so if you see something listed on this page, you can rest assured that I have researched it thoroughly before placing it here.  Due to the nature of the way a blog works, I will be listing the various ripoffs with links to a blog posting about them, or an external webpage.

If you have any suggestions, please leave a comment, and I will research the rip offs you suggest, and place them on the list.

I hope that information added to this page helps you avoid some  of these ripoffs.

Regards, Muskrat

  1. Free WordPress themes scam.  Themes by “wordpressthemesbase.com”  - (I did not link this on purpose.)   -  AVOID THESE THEMES! I was surfing for free themes, and ran across these guys.  Very nice looking themes, but I noticed that on the website, there was no ad’s running.  So I asked myself, “how do these guys make money?” There are a lot of themes, and obviously a lot of work went into this sites and the themes.  I couldn’t figure it out, so I went ahead and downloaded a theme, activated it, and when I went checked it out on the web, I noticed at the bottom of my theme in the footer, there was a link that said “cheap drugs.”  The lightbulb went off, and I suddenly new how they make money.  They sell these hidden links to the websites that are being linked to.  So I thought, I’ll just remove the link, not possible.  When you open the code for the footer, they have used an encrypted code.  This is why these guys are listed here as a WordPress theme scam.
